A
Great Tummy Workout For a Flatter Tummy
A
great tummy workout will not just
help you to get rid of that stubborn tummy fat, it will
also benefit you in other areas. The primary reason why a
lot of people are after effective tummy workouts is
normally cosmetic. Meaning that they want their bodies to
come across as being more attractive. This is fine but a
strong tummy provides wider benefits than this.
Having a strong flat tummy is essential in protecting your
inner organs and holding them in place. Most people will
probably not know this, but a weak stomach can result in some
internal organs being pushed against the tummy, and becoming
slightly dislodged. This can cause a number of health problems
a few years down the line. A strong stomach wall can stop this
from happening.
Another common problem with having a fat stomach is
that lower back problems can occur after a period of time due
to the excessive weight hanging down from the stomach.

As you can see flat tummy workouts go far beyond than
just working your abdominal muscles and getting a six
pack. Once you have decided to reduce the size of your tummy,
you will then need to try and find some type of tummy workout
to do. Contrary to what a lot of people may believe, crunches
and sit ups are not the only tummy exercises that you can do.
There are plenty of others which can be really effective.
Whichever tummy workout you decide to do, you will need to
approach it in 3 ways.
Diet Your diet is going to be paramount
in deciding what sort of results you will end up with. The fat
on your stomach is there because too many calories have been
stored there. Calories are just forms of energy, and what all
that fat means is that you have energy stored on your body that
needs to be burned off. This means you will need to cut back on
the calories that you are currently eating, so that anything
that you burn is not being replaced in the same numbers. Your
diet will be an important part of getting rid of tummy fat, and
without addressing this your tummy workouts are pretty much a
waste of time.
Tummy Workouts You will want to use a
tummy workout that is going to consist of different types
of stomach exercises. The reason for this is that your
tummy will benefit more from being exercised from different
angles. This way all your stomach muscles are being
exercised. As I have said, you have plenty of options, and here
are a few you should consider:
Crunches Crunches are a
basic of six pack exercise that you can do. There are
plenty of variations of this particular exercise. They can be
done on the floor, on an exercise ball, on a crunch bench, and
so on. The actual movement is a simple one to master. For
example if you were doing these on the floor, you would lie on
your back and bend the knees, making sure that you try to keep
the feet on the floor. You would then place your hands either
on the chest in front of you or behind your ears. You would
then raise your shoulders off the floor about 10 inches. Make
sure that you keep the tummy muscles tensed.
Ab
Wheel This is a piece of equipment which
is basically a small wheel with a handle on either end.
You grasp the handles and position yourself on your knees,
on the floor. You then move forward a place the wheel on
the floor, and while holding onto it, you get on your toes
and start to roll the wheel forward. This is pretty much a
push up position, but holding onto the ab wheel. You then
proceed to roll backwards and forwards. This is a
difficult exercise but reaps great benefits if you decide
to add it your tummy workouts.
Bike Crunches A great addition
to any tummy workout. Bike crunches are done by getting into
the same position as if you were doing a standard crunch. You
lift your shoulders about 6 inches off the floor and keep them
there for the duration of this exercise. You then lift your
legs about 15 inches off the floor and then start to do a
movement like riding a bike. Bring one knee to the body and
then as you straighten the leg back out, bring the second knee
to your body. Just like riding a bike.
The third part is cardio work, although not directly linked
to flat tummy workouts, will burn lots of fat, so do not
negelect that aspect. At the end of the day the key to any
success is going to be down to consistency. You can have the
best tummy workouts on the planet, but
they won't do you much good if you don't do them on a regular
basis.
